Process and Order Info

Design: My original designs represent about a decade of sculpting in clay. Most works shown are the clay masters I use to make molds for casting the statuary. The birdbaths are functional in that they are textured to give traction to little bird feet and pitched gently so small birds can bathe in the shallows.

Process: After I make a mold from the clay master, I pour my outdoor statuary in cast stone, a very rich mix of concrete with neoprene fibers and something called “super plasticizer” for extra tensile strength. After demolding I carefully finish each piece by hand, a timely process. No two pieces end up exactly alike because of variables in casting and finishing.

Ordering Options: Two works are now completed in cast stone and ready for delivery.

Works shown below are not yet cast but will be produced upon request ASAP. Time needs to be allowed for mold-making, casting, curing, and finishing. A deposit of half price in needed at time of order.

In addition to cast stone and hydrostone (a gypsum product for indoor art) works may be cast in bronze or aluminum. Price of metal pieces to be determined at time of request as I must get an estimate from the foundry. An initial deposit of half price is required at time or order.
